The People Behind The Magic

We have a number of STAFF and VOLUNTEERS who assist in running our forest school sessions, planning activities and preparing resources. All our team who lead sessions alone are fully Forest School qualified, DBS checked, First Aid trained and they hold Public Liability Insurance.

 

Sam  (Forest School Leader & Founder of At Play in the Woods)

He trained with the original Forest School with shared characteristic from Bridgwater College. He is qualified in Forest school Lvl 3 & Leadership;  cache qualifications in Play Work, City and Guilds qualification in teaching; Behavior in children. He is conversant in woodland tree safety and management. Has ran an after school club and life long member of Scouting. Was a North Somerset play development officer and set up and delivered Forest Schools in a number of School setting. Completed safeguarding and domestic abuse training, has participated in Child Protection courses. Holds a CRB (DBS) checked by Lions International and has Paediatric First Aid plus Forest School (Outdoor) First Aid qualifications. He is a father of three.

Damian  (Site Team & Trainee Forest School Leader)

NVQ level 3 in Children and Young adults. Has worked with the National Trust on an volunteer placement with the warden team. A Foundation Degree in Wildlife and Countryside Management. Damian is a father and has a long time love for being outdoors. level 2 certificate in practical environmental skills. Food safety and NPTC Level 2 in chainsaw and Brushcutting

Kenn (Web & Site Team)

Kenn has been with us from the start helping dig out rivers and marking out pathways. Along with being a part of the working team, he is also helps when it comes to the website and running of the online booking system.  A great supporter of everything we do and willing to chip in with anything that needs doing.

 

 

 

 

Gary (Site Team & Support Staff)

Dad of 2 grown up girls. Member of Clevedon Lions, volunteer at Portishead open air pool and Café Lido, has the following qualifications: First Aid @ Work, Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene, Basic Health & Safety, Avon & Somerset Police Counter-Terrorism Awareness Level 2 – Food Safety & Hygiene for Manufacturing.

Enjoys working with children of all ages. Also has a DBS and is a licensed chaperone with North Somerset Council.

 

 

 

Paul (Site Team, PR & Media Manager)

Without Paul  we would be not even be off the ground he’s been involved from day one behind the scenes. Helping with filming all our videos and keeping Sam on the right path. That said Paul is our drone cameraman. Who brings us some amazing video from the sky.

Credit given where credit is due. A family man who gives what time he can to our projects and helps out whenever he’s able.
