The Adult Role in Child-led Play

Follow Their Lead Your child will decide when to leave your lap to explore. If they feel like climbing or finding bugs in the undergrowth, it is their curiosity that is driving their wonder and learning. You become a ‘learning ally’ when you understand your child needs to direct their own explorations. Children need and want to stretch and challenge themselves when they play. Our play space is stimulating and exciting it allows children to encounter and learn about risk. This helps them to build confidence, learn skills and develop resilience at their own pace.
