Your child (of any age)  will spend time looking for the magic post-box in the woods\, to which every child will get a personal reply from the Big Man himself! \nWe will all meet at the car park and then when everyone is present we will make our way to the woods all together. So please turn up 15mins before the start time. \nWe start the session with an introduction and a safety talk. Then well its over to you. Write your letter to the big man\, then wander through the woods to find the magic post-box\, post your letter then return to play in the mud kitchen\, or try your hands at the tyre swing. \nAfter toasting marshmallows and enjoying a bit of free play- with activities such as creating your own tree decorations- you will leave with a Yule tide gift from us. \nDue to parking arrangements\, numbers will be limited\, so book now to secure your place. Each visit is 1.5 hours. \nEveryone will be asked to use hand sanitiser when coming onto site. If you would like to use a face mask you are welcome to do so. \nIf you have any signs of high temperature or other COVID-19 symptoms please do not book. We also ask that should you have symptoms on the day\, you do not attend\, and follow Government guidelines.

DESCRIPTION:At Play in the Woods\, Forest School can help develop and teach a range of subjects from: \nBiology and Sciences – looking at plant life and by experimenting.\nMaths – counting and Measuring.\nCitizenship – learning about the “birds and the bees.”\nDesign and Technology – making birdhouses and designing flower gardens.\nP.E. – running about & playing games.\nArt – natural art is a great way to start enjoying things outdoors.\nEnglish – workbooks\, names and stories. \nA non-classroom environment gives children increased stimulation and encourages a higher learning potential. \nWe are running 3 hour sessions. No\, you don’t have to stay for the whole thing but we do ask we all arrive at the same time to safely enter the woods together. \nPlease bring a packed lunch and a drink with you. \nThe combination of freedom and responsibility is particularly beneficial to those with little confidence or challenging behaviour. \nHome education is an alternative to school; any family can choose this option for their children – parents decide to keep primary responsibility for the education of their children as is their right in law\, instead of delegating it to a school. We offer families who home-educate the opportunity to learn\, meet new friends and have fun in our beautiful woodland. \nRemember clothes and children are 100% washable. If you do notice anyone is cold\, hungry or thirsty\, please act quickly to either assist them or let staff know. At first\, it’s normal for some children to feel a bit frightened or overwhelmed in the woods. They may look to you for reassurance. Some other children will explode and want to run and shout and feel. If you can\, run with them\, laugh with them\, be in the moment with them. Once the children feel comfortable\, they will start to interact fully with the woods. Some will love the textures of the trees. Others\, the feel of the mud and water. There are some that will hold back watching which is just fine as well. In whatever way your child responds to the woodland environment\, we will encourage them all. \nEveryone will be asked to use hand sanitiser when coming on site. Will you discover your own dinosaur? \n \nAs always\, there is our mud kitchen and play area to enjoy.\nThere are lots of things to see and do in our wonderful woodland. All ages will be catered for. \n \nAs always\, we will be taking care when together. We will recommend washing your hands before you join us and when you get home. On arriving to site you will be asked to use sanitizer to clean your hands.\nThis session is to help with the mental health of your child/children and yourself.  Educational and enjoyable\, a great treat for any dinosaur fan.\nThe government says the risk of transmission of COVID-19 “is low in the outdoors and open spaces”.\nParticipants and others can maintain a safe 2 metre distance or 1 plus\, good hygiene practices are in place and equipment is cleaned regularly.  Anyone who is symptomatic or suspects they have been exposed to the virus should not take part and remain at home.\nAt the end of the day it is up to you and your family to wash your hands when returning home and wash your clothes.  If you would like to wear face masks when with us you are more than welcome to do so.\nWe will be reminding children not to put their finger in their mouth or touch their eyes.
